Osun election: Only miracle or magic can save Gov Adeleke from defeat – Shehu Sani

Former Senator Comments on Upcoming Osun Governorship Election

Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani stated Thursday that only a significant change in circumstances could prevent Governor Ademola Adeleke from facing defeat in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State.

Sani attributed his assertion to the fragmentation among opposition parties in the state, in contrast to the apparent unity and strength of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a post on social media platform X, Sani noted the involvement of Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, who serves as the Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council for the Osun election. He expressed confidence that Uzodinma would play a crucial role in securing victory for the APC.

“Osun; a divided opposition and the fact that almost all of the ADC members in the state are genetically and spiritually from the APC, only a miracle or magic will save the incumbent Governor,” Sani wrote. “In the absence of both miracle and magic, Hope Uzodinma will undoubtedly retrieve Osun for the APC.”

In the upcoming election, the APC has nominated Bola Oyebamiji, while Adeleke, representing the Accord Party, seeks re-election for a second term.

Despite Sani’s comments, Adeleke remains optimistic about his chances, asserting that he will win the election. However, some APC leaders predict a different outcome, suggesting that Adeleke may face a significant defeat.
