Bola Oyebamiji, the governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured a victory in Boluwaduro Local Government Area during the ongoing governorship election in Osun State. Oyebamiji triumphed over incumbent governor Ademola Adeleke, the candidate for the Accord Party, at Ward 6, Polling Unit 006.

According to a results sheet posted by Akinsola Akin on social media platform X, Oyebamiji received 68 votes, while Adeleke garnered 39 votes.

Voting began at 9 a.m. Saturday and concluded around 2:30 p.m. at various polling units throughout the state. In total, 15 candidates, including Adeleke and Oyebamiji, are contesting for the support of 2,339,233 registered voters, as reported by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Earlier, Adeleke raised concerns regarding the election’s conduct, citing issues with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), which experienced technical difficulties and slow performance at several polling stations. David Adeleke, a prominent figure and nephew of the incumbent governor, also noted that as of 2:33 p.m. Saturday, INEC had not yet uploaded results to its IReV portal.
