Osun election, sign of what will happen in 2027 – Oyo ADP guber candidate
Kunle Olatunji, the gubernatorial candidate for the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo State, has asserted that the recent results of the Osun governorship election foreshadow the dynamics of the 2027 general elections.
Olatunji made the comments in a statement released to the media on Sunday. His remarks follow the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) declaration of Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the hotly contested election, which took place under the banner of the Accord Party.
In his reaction, Olatunji emphasized that the election results demonstrate that neither influence nor intimidation can undermine the electorate’s will. He views the Osun outcome as a significant morale booster for voters leading into future elections.
He congratulated Adeleke on his victory and noted that the events in Osun serve as a reminder to political office holders that the people hold the constitutional power to choose their leaders through voting.
Olatunji stated, “The Osun election is a morale booster for many emerging political leaders and genuine democrats who believe that a strong connection with the electorate, fulfillment of electoral promises, empathy, and commitment to quality leadership are critical for electoral success.”
He further remarked on the growing awareness among Nigerian voters regarding the importance of their participation in the democratic process. “The message from Osun is clear: the people have the power. When they make a collective decision, no amount of money, influence, or political might can permanently suppress their will,” he said.
