Osun Governor Accuses APC of Sabotage Ahead of Elections
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday for allegedly vandalizing his campaign billboards. During a town hall event hosted by Arise Television, he urged the APC to facilitate a free, fair, and credible election in the state.
Adeleke claimed that the destruction of his billboards has paradoxically bolstered public support for his campaign. He emphasized his commitment to peaceful campaigning, instructing his supporters to refrain from retaliating against their opponents’ actions.
“Why are you destroying my billboards if you believe you can win?” Adeleke asked. “Your governor is a peaceful person. Let the whole world see what they are doing.”
The governor dismissed allegations that he has militarized his campaign, asserting that he lacks the authority to mobilize the Armed Forces. “I am not the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. I am not the Chief of Army Staff or the Inspector-General of Police,” he stated.
Adeleke’s remarks come as the political climate in Osun State intensifies ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial elections.
