Osun IPAC suspends deputy chairman over alleged diversion of bags of rice

Deputy Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Osun state, Femi Adesuyi, has been suspended over the alleged diversion of palliatives provided by the state government to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

Adesuyi had represented IPAC on the committee established by the Osun State Government to distribute food items provided to the state as palliatives by the Federal Government.

It was revealed that Adesuyi was given 50 bags of rice but only delivered 35 bags and allegedly retained the remaining 15 bags. This prompted the council to establish a committee to investigate the matter.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of Osun IPAC, Wale Adebayo and Tosin Odeyemi, it was stated that Adesuyi’s actions undermined the integrity of the group.

It read;

“It was unanimously agreed among the members present during our last meeting that Femi Adesuyi should be suspended for six months.

“This decision aims to uphold the principles of accountability and transparency within our noble council, ensuring that no member is above the laws and regulations set forth by IPAC.

“In light of this resolution, we will be writing to IPAC national body, providing them with a comprehensive explanation regarding the suspension of Femi Adesuyi.”
