Passengers abducted as bandits attack commercial bus in Katsina

Bandits have hijacked a commercial vehicle belonging to the Katsina State Transport Authority (KTSTA) and abducted some passengers in Katsina State. 

 

It was gathered that the incident happened at around 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2024. 

 

Sources told the Daily Trust that the incident took place between Burdugau and Yargoje villages along Kankara road in Kankara Local Government Area. 

 

An employee of the KTSTA, who asked to remain anonymous, said the eighteen-seater bus with registration number (14B-300-KT) was travelling from Funtua to Katsina when the incident happened.

 

The spokesman of the police in Katsina, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, who confirmed the incident said eight passengers were kidnapped from the bus and the police were able to rescue four.
