Nollywood Actress Reflects on Life After Father’s Death
Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has shared how the loss of her father at the age of 16 profoundly impacted her life. In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jidenowo, Rosman described the traumatic experience and its effect on her mental health, including thoughts of suicide.
Rosman recounted the bleak predictions made by some people in her life following her father’s passing. She faced comments suggesting she might resort to prostitution due to her circumstances. Despite these challenges, Rosman turned her grief and financial struggles into motivation for her ambitions.
“After I lost my dad at 16, many people told me I would end up becoming a prostitute and getting pregnant out of wedlock,” Rosman said. “Grief can drive you to a point of suicide, as it is one of the hardest things to overcome. My tough upbringing prepared me to strive for better every day. I often wonder how ambitious I might have been if I had grown up in a more comfortable situation.”
Rosman’s story highlights the resilience and determination that can emerge from personal tragedy, as she continues to pursue her career in the entertainment industry.
