FCT Police Arrest Emmanuel Odiniya in Domestic Violence Case Involving Daughter

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested Emmanuel Odiniya, the father of former Big Brother Naija housemate Ilebaye, in connection with suspected domestic violence.

This arrest follows a distress call received on Friday night during an Instagram livestream, where Ilebaye expressed fears for her safety. A video circulating on social media showed her father allegedly assaulting her, raising alarm among viewers.

In a statement released Saturday, FCT Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh confirmed that authorities responded promptly to the situation reported from Royal Anchor Estate in Wuye, Abuja.

“A patrol team from Wuye Division, supported by operatives from the Department of Operations, was dispatched to the scene after receiving the call reporting an ongoing assault,” Adeh stated. The Command’s Public Relations Officer was also present to oversee the operation.

Upon arrival, officers found the residence’s gate locked. After multiple attempts, they gained access at approximately 2:30 a.m. They discovered Ilebaye with visible injuries and managed to rescue her and her brothers. The group was then taken to NNPC Hospital in Abuja for medical treatment.

Emmanuel Odiniya is currently in police custody, and an investigation is underway to fully understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
