Police Arrest Ratel Member Following Threats Against Comedian

Port Harcourt, Nigeria — The Rivers State Police Command arrested a member of the Ratel criminal group known as Veryblackman on Saturday. His arrest followed allegations that he threatened the life of reality star and comedian DeeOne.

Veryblackman was taken into custody after failing to respond to a police invitation regarding the threats made against DeeOne. He was subsequently transported to Lagos on Sunday for further investigation.

In response to the news, DeeOne shared a message on Instagram, thanking the police for their swift action. “Arrested and swift to Lagos! Next time you won’t threaten someone’s life. Kudos to the Nigerian Police for doing their job,” he wrote.

This incident is a continuation of tensions dating back to June 2026, when Veryblackman threatened DeeOne for criticizing his brother, a figure known as VeryDarkMan. This earlier threat prompted widespread calls for arrest, including from notable personalities such as Mario Wazobia and Broda Mike.

The investigation is ongoing as police gather more information regarding the threats and the activities of Veryblackman.
