Nigerian Police Arrest Singer Rolex Dee for Alleged Defamation and Cyberbullying
The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of musician Rolex Dee on allegations of defaming fellow artist Taye Currency and engaging in cyberbullying. This action follows an incident during an interview on the Agbaletu program that reportedly sparked online controversy.
The Oyo State Police Command addressed recent claims of an unlawful arrest, labeling them as “unverified reports capable of misleading the public.” In a statement shared on X, police officials detailed how they tracked Rolex Dee to Lagos following a petition submitted by Taye Currency, an Ibadan-based singer.
Rolex Dee is accused of making defamatory statements and issuing threats across various social media platforms, prompted by the widespread circulation of his remarks during the Agbaletu interview.
