Bauchi State Police Recover Stolen Vehicle, Arrest Three Suspects
The Bauchi State Police Command has successfully recovered a stolen Opel Vectra and arrested three individuals linked to a vehicle theft operation that extended into Gombe State.
According to police spokesperson SP Nafiu Habib, the recovery occurred after authorities received a distress call on June 29, 2026. A concerned citizen reported that a green Opel Vectra with registration number AH 232 AKK, owned by Katsinawa Village resident Mr. Muazu, had been stolen.
Officers from the ‘E’ Division responded swiftly, conducting an operation that led to the interception of the vehicle in Dorawan Dillalai. One suspect was apprehended at the scene, and the stolen vehicle was recovered.
Further investigations directed police to Gombe State, where two additional suspects—Abubakar Musa, 46, and Usman Abubakar, 30—were arrested while allegedly negotiating to purchase the stolen vehicle.
The police reported that the suspects have confessed to their involvement and indicated a history of similar offenses. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities plan to file charges against all three individuals once the inquiry is complete.
Bauchi State Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu commended the prompt actions of the officers and the citizen who provided the critical tip.
“The Command is dedicated to combating vehicle theft and related crimes throughout the state,” Aliyu stated.
