Renowned gospel singer Ron Kenoly has passed away at the age of 81. His death was confirmed by several fellow gospel artists on social media.
Nigerian gospel minister Nathaniel Bassey expressed his condolences and gratitude for Kenoly’s influence in a heartfelt post on Instagram. “Dr. Ron Kenoly crosses to yonder side,” he wrote. “Thank you for inspiring generations of psalmists like me. I grew up on these songs, and today, others are growing up on ours. Thank you, sir.”
Kenoly was celebrated for hit songs including “Majesty,” “Righteousness, Peace & Joy,” “Anointing,” and “Sing Out.”
In related news, Bobby Williams Adeoye, son of the late gospel singer Omije Ojumi, shared his reflections on his mother’s passing during a recent memorial service. Williams stated he was not entirely shocked by the news, as his mother frequently discussed death throughout her life.
He remembered her as a dedicated and nurturing parent, who committed herself to ensuring his success. “She was caring, kind, and very strong,” he noted, adding that she always encouraged him both academically and personally. Williams also highlighted her deep interest in his daily life, saying she would inquire about his day whenever he returned from school.
