Nigerian Filmmaker Okiki Adesina Dies in Car Accident
Okiki Adesina, a veteran Nigerian filmmaker and comedian known as Janmole, has died following a car accident on Monday.
Bolaji Amusan, the filmmaker and president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), announced Adesina’s death on his Instagram account on Tuesday.
“May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace,” Amusan wrote. He extended condolences to Adesina’s family, friends, and colleagues, offering them strength during this difficult time.
Reports indicate that Adesina’s passing comes nearly four years after he survived a fire incident on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. He is remembered for his contributions to the Nigerian film industry, where he was a beloved figure.
