Popular Political Singer Kosan Waka Dies at 47
KATSINA, Nigeria (AP) — Muhammadu Buhari, known professionally as Kosan Waka, has died at the age of 47. His passing occurred on Sunday, according to family members, who confirmed that he will be laid to rest in Tsanni Village, located in the Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, at 5 p.m. local time.
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed his condolences to the singer’s family in a statement released by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa. In his message, Governor Yusuf extended sympathy to Kosan Waka’s mother, relatives, friends, and fans, as well as to the people of Kano State.
The governor praised Kosan Waka, describing him as “a Kano-based patriotic son of Katsina.” He noted that the singer’s music transcended political boundaries and served as a significant tool for promoting unity, culture, and public awareness.
