Nasarawa United Captain Expresses Disappointment Over Cup Exit
Nasarawa United captain King Osanga expressed his frustration following the team’s recent elimination from the President Federation Cup. The Solid Miners fell to Ikorodu City in a semi-final match on Wednesday at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, losing 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Ikorodu City took the lead early in the match, with Ayoola Ibrahim scoring in the 11th minute. Nasarawa United equalized shortly before halftime, as Bright Amadi found the net four minutes before the break.
Following the match, Osanga reflected on the team’s journey and the disappointment felt by players and supporters alike. “This truly hurts, no doubts. We wanted to bring a trophy home for our great supporters and fans, but look at the journey,” he stated in comments released by the club.
Osanga highlighted the growth and competitiveness of the team throughout the season, noting the collective disappointment. “Everyone is hurt, but we have to put the pains of this behind us and rebuild ahead of next season,” he added.
