PRP candidate’s younger brother loses three children to Abuja flood

The younger brother of Shehu Aliyu Musa, the Peoples Redemption Party’s 2027 senatorial candidate for Bauchi South, has suffered a devastating loss after his three children were swept away by floodwaters in Abuja.
The children, identified as Maryam, Umar, and Hanifah, were reported missing four days ago. According to the Bauchi State chapter of the PRP, the body of Umar, the only male child, has been recovered, while the bodies of Maryam and Hanifah are still unaccounted for as of October 4.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed extended his condolences to the children’s father, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu Musa. In a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the governor described the loss as both devastating and painful.
“On behalf of my family, the Government, and the people of Bauchi State, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu Musa and his entire family over the tragic loss of his beloved children,” the governor stated. “This is indeed a moment of great sorrow, and words are inadequate to express the depth of our sympathy.”
Governor Mohammed offered prayers for the deceased, wishing them eternal peace in Aljannatul Firdaus, and provided encouragement to the grieving family. He emphasized that the government and the people of Bauchi State stand in solidarity with those affected by this tragedy.
The PRP’s Bauchi State chapter also offered condolences to Shehu Aliyu Musa, Abubakar Aliyu Musa, and their family, praying for strength and patience in the face of their loss.
