In 1994, the World Cup came to the United States and the Brazilians triumphed – their first in 24 years.
They’ll be hoping that there’s a parallel with that in 2026. Again, the United States will host (with Canada and Mexico) and again, it’ll be 24 years of hurt, following the heartbreaking defeat on penalties to Croatia.
Well, if the team they bring to North America is anything like the one they won their fourth title with, it’ll be a special bunch. Sure enough, 1994 was their first of three finals in a row.
