Rarara criticises Davido, condemns use of insecurity for political gain

Praise Singer Rarara Criticizes Politicization of Nigeria’s Security Issues
Hausa praise singer Dauda Adamu Kahutu, popularly known as Rarara, has condemned the use of Nigeria’s security challenges for political gain. In a recent viral video, he expressed strong disapproval of any opposition politician who incorporates the nation’s insecurity into their campaign strategies, calling such actions “insane.”
Rarara made these remarks in response to an appearance by Afrobeats star Davido at the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown concert, where messages regarding the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State were highlighted. He argued that these actions diminish Nigeria’s image on an international scale.
“The handling of security-related issues should be approached with great care and should not be politicized or turned into public spectacles,” Rarara stated. He emphasized that showcasing ongoing security crises to a global audience might undermine Nigeria’s reputation and inadvertently aid criminal elements.
Further, Rarara suggested that Davido’s involvement was politically motivated, alleging that it was aimed at bolstering his uncle’s electoral chances while casting the current administration in a negative light.
“No politician or public figure should leverage insecurity as a campaign strategy,” he insisted. “Anyone who campaigns with insecurity is insane because such a person does not fully grasp the gravity of the issue.” He called for national security concerns to prioritize above partisan politics.
Rarara also urged public figures and content creators to exercise caution when discussing delicate security matters. He noted that the public may not always comprehend the complexities involved in security operations.
In conclusion, Rarara acknowledged the public’s right to express concern over national issues but urged citizens to do so responsibly, in ways that do not harm the country’s reputation or complicate efforts to address security challenges.
