Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has asserted that the rivalry among fans significantly contributes to the enduring popularity of Afrobeats stars Wizkid and Davido in the music industry, which has persisted for nearly two decades.
In an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, Blaqbonez highlighted that while artists may share mutual respect, competition among their fan bases is essential. He argued that without this rivalry, the two artists could risk losing their relevance.
“Wizkid and Davido can never fade. That rivalry is the reason they will remain relevant forever. When they love each other, it’s over. Love is for children. Artists can love each other, but the fans should never love each other,” Blaqbonez said.
