Angelica is known (now I know!) for its herbaciousness with peppery notes and clean spice – in fact, clean spicy is probably how I would categorize the opening of this fragrance. It settles down to a musky, woody, wettish sort of a tone. The fragrance is very much lifted by jasmine absolute and the rosier aspect of pink peppercorns that makes Angelica Florae a bit like the dawn lawn and the wakening flowerbed merged into one. You get a bit of everything all at once. There’s a drop of patchouli at the base but it’s the warming on the body that is the most exciting to me – it’s suddenly skin-like, warm, heady and intense. I think if you had this on your neck and someone leaned in for a hug, you’d have a hard time shaking them off ;-). Weirdly, I cannot find a stockist just yet for this fragrance although Debenhams has various Roos & Roos fragrances which are £88 each HERE.
