Security Personnel Deployed in Kwara State Ahead of Sallah Celebrations

Kwara State—The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the deployment of 2,480 personnel in Kwara State to enhance security in anticipation of the upcoming Sallah celebrations. This initiative was revealed on May 25, 2026, as part of the Corps’ proactive measures to protect lives, safeguard critical infrastructure, and maintain public order before, during, and after the festivities.

Commandant Umar Mohammed of the Kwara State NSCDC indicated that officers will be strategically located at worship centers, recreational areas, markets, motor parks, and other locations deemed high-risk during the holiday.

The Corps is collaborating with various security agencies to ensure a peaceful environment throughout the celebrations.

“Our priority is to protect lives and critical national assets,” Mohammed emphasized.

He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to their nearest security posts for immediate response.
