Co-Gymnast of the Week

Luisa Blanco  Alabama
Gr. Dallas, Texas

Alabama’s Luisa Blanco, a graduate student from Dallas, Texas, won the all-around in her final home opener in Tuscaloosa with a score of 39.675 in the win over No. 3 Missouri. Blanco also won event titles on bars (9.950) and floor exercise (9.925), was runner-up on beam (9.925) and earned a share of third place on vault (9.875). UA was only leading by 0.10 heading into the final rotation, as Blanco posted the highest score of any gymnast on floor to help push the Tide to the win.

Co-Gymnast of the Week

Raena Worley  Kentucky
5Y Christiansburg, Va.

Kentucky’s Raena Worley, a fifth year from Christiansburg, Va., won her 22nd career all-around title with a score of 39.650 in the win at No. 11 Auburn. Worley tied fellow teammate Creslyn Brose for first place on the floor exercise (9.950), the 18th floor win of her collegiate career. She also recorded the meet’s top score on the uneven bars (9.925) for her 10th event victory. Rounding out the meet, Worley tied for second place on both vault (9.875) and on the balance beam (9.900).

Specialist of the Week

Konnor McClain  LSU
Fr. Las Vegas, Nev.

LSU’s Konnor McClain, a freshman from Las Vegas, Nev., scored a perfect 10 for the second bars routine of her collegiate career to help the Tigers earn a second-place finish at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad. It was McClain’s first perfect score in her career as a Tiger and at the first road meet on the national stage.

Freshman of the Week

Anya Pilgrim  Florida
Fr. Germantown, Md.

Florida’s Anya Pilgrim, a freshman from Germantown, Md., began her Gator career by winning the all-around with a score of 39.525 in the quad home opener George Washington, Fisk and Talladega. It was the highest all-around score by a freshman Gator in a season opener. Pilgrim also won at least a share of three apparatus titles after tying with teammate Leanne Wong on vault (9.875), tying with teammate Victoria Nguyen on floor exercise (9.925) and earning the top score on bars (9.875).
