Offensive Player of the Week

Kentucky’s Brooklyn DeLeye, a freshman outside hitter from Topeka, Kan., averaged 5.72 points and 5.56 kills per set and hit .336 on the week as the Wildcats went 2-0 this past weekend. DeLeye posted a career-high 25 kills in each match – a five-set win at Georgia on Friday and a four-set win at Alabama on Sunday. She became the first Kentucky freshman to have 20+ kills in back-to-back matches since All-American Leah Edmond did it in 2016. DeLeye also had her first two career double-doubles with 12 digs Friday night and 10 digs Sunday.

Defensive Player of the Week

Yelianiz Torres  Tennessee

Tennessee’s Yelianiz Torres, a graduate student libero from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, averaged 5.86 digs per set in a 2-0 week for the Lady Vols. Torres recorded a season-high 26 digs in the four-set win at Mississippi State Friday night, the seventh 25-plus dig performance of her career, to help the Big Orange post its most digs in a match this year with 79. She also registered a match-high 15 digs in the three-set victory at Ole Miss on Sunday.

Setter of the Week

Emma Grome  Kentucky
S • Jr. Loveland, Ohio

Kentucky’s Emma Grome, a junior from Loveland, Ohio, averaged 12.33 assists per set as the Wildcats earned a pair of road wins this past weekend. Grome tallied 53 assists against Georgia on Friday night and a season-high 58 assists at Alabama on Sunday. She has now recorded 50+ assists in three of the four SEC matches that UK has played. Grome also contributed 20 digs, three kills, three blocks and two aces on the week.

Freshman of the Week

Caroline Kerr  Tennessee
S • Fr. Champaign, Ill.

Tennessee’s Caroline Kerr, a redshirt-freshman setter from Champaign, Ill., averaged 11.71 assists per set in the road wins over Mississippi State and Ole Miss. Against the Bulldogs, Kerr posted the second double-double of her career with 43 assists and a career-high13 digs and tied her career high of six kills on .750 hitting. Against the Rebels, she assisted on 39 of UT’s 44 kills, while chipping in a career-high-tying three blocks, three kills, three digs and one ace, as Tennessee won its eighth straight match and recorded its 10th sweep of the season.
