So-Safe Corps arrests three suspected cultists, recovers firearm in Ogun


Operatives from the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) arrested three suspected cult members and seized a firearm on Sunday in the Ijagun area of Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as Samuel, Dapo, and Favour, were apprehended around 4 p.m. during a security operation at Emmanuel Villa, Abapawa, Ijagun.

Commander Soji Ganzallo, head of the So-Safe Corps, stated that the arrests were made following credible intelligence regarding suspected cultist activities in the region. The operatives acted swiftly on this information, leading to the arrests and the recovery of one firearm, which has been secured as evidence.

Following their arrest, the suspects were taken into custody and subsequently transferred to the Nigeria Police Force in Igbeba for further investigation and legal proceedings. The recovered firearm was also submitted to the police as part of the case documentation.

Commander Ganzallo praised the operatives for their timely, intelligence-driven response. He reiterated the Corps’ commitment to combating cultism and armed crime within the state. He also urged community members to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, including cult behavior and illegal possession of firearms.
