Super Eagles lose 2-1 to Portugal in friendly match

Portugal Defeats Nigeria 2-1 in International Friendly
Portugal secured a 2-1 victory over Nigeria in an international friendly match on Wednesday night.
The Super Eagles aimed to upset the Portuguese side, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, after recently drawing 2-2 with Poland. However, it was Portugal that struck first, with Pedro Neto finding space inside the penalty area and scoring to give his team an early lead.
Nigeria equalized before halftime, courtesy of a powerful run and finish from Akor Adams.
As the match appeared to be heading toward a draw, Francisco Conceicao sealed the win for Portugal with a curling shot from the edge of the box.
Portugal’s next challenge will be their 2026 World Cup opener against the Democratic Republic of Congo, scheduled for next Wednesday.
