Super Eagles defender Igoh Ogbu faces a significant period on the sidelines due to a ruptured Achilles tendon, according to reports from DAILY POST.
The injury occurred during a training session in Lisbon on Saturday. Promise Efoghe, the Super Eagles media officer, confirmed the news on Sunday, stating that the 26-year-old will undergo a scan to determine the full extent of the injury.
Reports from SCORENigeria indicate that Ogbu is expected to be unavailable for at least nine months.
Ogbu recently participated in the invitational Unity Cup in London and played in a friendly match against Poland, which ended in a 2-2 draw. He was also included in the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
