Seven Killed in Bandit Attack in Zamfara State
GUSAU, Zamfara State — A recent attack by armed bandits has resulted in the deaths of two residents and five security personnel in the Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The incident was reported on Friday by security analyst Bakatsine through a post on X.
The bandits invaded the communities of Marake and Kaura, where they killed two individuals and set numerous properties ablaze. The five security personnel lost their lives while attempting to defend the communities from the attackers.
According to Bakatsine, the assailants not only torched homes but also destroyed a shop, three motorcycles, and a vehicle during the raid. Significant destruction was also reported in the nearby Karazau community.
Despite the attack, Bakatsine noted that security forces, aided by local volunteers, were successful in preventing the gunmen from seizing the affected areas.
As families mourn the losses, residents are urging for prompt action to address the persistent violence in Zamfara State.
