Suspected Boko Haram insurgents kill pastor and 5 others during attack in Yobe

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have killed one Pastor Luka Levong of the Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN) in Kwari, Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe state. 
 

Aside from the pastor, it was gathered that the insurgents also killed five others. 

According to reports, the insurgents invaded the community around 2:00 am on Friday, Jan. 5, and shot the pastor and his church treasurer Maina Abdullahi. 

It was learnt the other victims were also killed in their separate houses one after the other before the arrival of the security men. 

Many houses, a church, and vehicles were also set ablaze. 

The police and military in Yobe State have not commented on the attack at the time of filing this report. 
 

This latest incident is coming days after Boko Haram insurgents attacked a community in neighbouring Yobe State, killing 12 persons and injuring two others.
