Kwara Police Arrest Suspect Linked to Kidnapping Syndicate
ILORIN, Nigeria — The Kwara State Police Command has apprehended Muhamodu Sanni, who is believed to be connected to a suspected kidnapping syndicate operating in the Obudu/Woru area of Ilorin East Local Government.
According to a statement from the police’s Public Relations Officer, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, Sanni was arrested while allegedly attempting to collect ransom money related to a recent abduction.
The arrest came after police gathered intelligence following the armed kidnapping of three individuals during an attack on Obudu Village on July 28, 2026. Officers expanded their investigation into the financial, logistical, and communication networks associated with the kidnapped individuals, which led to Sanni’s capture.
Ejire-Adeyemi emphasized that the Kwara State Police Command’s ongoing efforts against kidnapping have been effective, highlighting the success of intelligence-driven operations that disrupted the support structures of the syndicate.
