Taraba State Mobile Court Seizes Vehicle Transporting Illegally Mined Minerals
The mobile court in Taraba State, tasked with environmental protection and public safety, has impounded a Toyota Yaris alleged to be transporting illegally mined solid minerals, identified as monoxide. The vehicle was seized during an enforcement operation conducted early Friday morning in the Dakka area of Bali Local Government Council. This operation was part of routine patrols enforcing Executive Order No. 5 of 2023, aimed at safeguarding the environment.
Authorities stated that both the vehicle and the seized minerals have been placed in custody pending further legal action, in line with the provisions of the executive order.
The mobile court issued a warning to motorists, transporters, and individuals involved in the illegal mining and transportation of solid minerals. It stressed that violators would face arrest and prosecution.
Reaffirming its dedication to environmental protection and public safety, the mobile court emphasized that the Taraba State Government is committed to preserving the state’s natural resources while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Enforcement operations will continue across the state to combat illegal mining and other activities considered harmful to both the environment and public interest.
