This is childish – Joe Igbokwe fumes as Atiku moves to stop Tinubu’s re-election bid

Joe Igbokwe, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has criticized Atiku Abubakar’s recent legal action aimed at disqualifying President Bola Tinubu from the upcoming 2027 presidential election.
On Friday, Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), filed a motion in the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking to prevent Tinubu from running, citing alleged discrepancies related to the president’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate, which he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Abubakar claims that the certificate in question lists the name “Tinubu Bola Adekunle,” which he argues is different from the president’s official name, “Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
In response to Abubakar’s actions, Igbokwe took to Facebook, labeling the move as “childish” and accusing the former vice president of corruption. He stated, “Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is asking PBAT to produce his NYSC Certificate. This is becoming childish.” Igbokwe further emphasized his lack of trust in Abubakar’s management of national resources.
The unfolding legal challenge adds another layer to the contentious political climate ahead of the 2027 elections.
