Tinubu hospitalised in France – Sowore alleges
Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), has claimed that President Bola Tinubu is hospitalized in France. Sowore made the statement during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Monday.
His allegation follows President Tinubu’s extended absence from Nigeria, which has surpassed the official three-week period for foreign travel.
Sowore suggested that some of Tinubu’s recent public appearances were orchestrated to mask a serious health issue. He drew comparisons to the past administrations of former Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Umaru Yar’Adua, who also faced health-related absences.
“Reliable sources have indicated that Tinubu is receiving treatment in France. Those sporadic appearances are intended to mislead the public,” Sowore stated. He referenced past statements made during the illnesses of Yar’Adua and Buhari, which suggested that a president could govern from any location.
Having spent two weeks in the United States attending the United Nations General Assembly, Sowore noted, “I don’t have details on Tinubu’s specific ailment, and that may be why he has not been discharged from the hospital.”
