Tinubu mourns death of ex-Delta Gov, Uduaghan

President Bola Tinubu expressed his condolences following the death of former Delta State Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, who passed away at the age of 71. Uduaghan served as governor from 2007 to 2015 and remained engaged in public service even after his term ended.

In a statement released Monday, Tinubu highlighted Uduaghan’s commitment to democratic governance and noted that he continued to influence political and socio-economic affairs in Delta State following his governorship. Tinubu remarked on Uduaghan’s substantial impact on the state, describing his eight years in office as pivotal to Delta’s political and developmental narrative.

Uduaghan’s career in public service began before his governorship, during which he held key roles as the Commissioner for Health and Secretary to the State Government. The President commended Uduaghan’s efforts to enhance infrastructure, healthcare, and the welfare of the residents of Delta State.

Tinubu encouraged the citizens of Delta to find comfort in Uduaghan’s legacy of service and the lasting connections he developed throughout his career. “At this difficult time, I urge the people of Delta State to draw strength from the late governor’s years of service,” Tinubu said. “His efforts have left an enduring mark across the political and social landscape of our country.”
