Tinubu surrounds himself with second-class, low-level people – Osinbajo’s ex-aide

Former Media Aide Criticizes President Tinubu’s Advisory Circle
Laolu Akande, a former media aide to ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu for the individuals he has chosen to surround himself with in his administration.
In a recent appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise, Akande characterized Tinubu’s circle as comprising “second-class, third-class, low-level people.” He expressed concern that this environment prevents the President from receiving the appropriate guidance needed for effective governance.
“The kind of people a leader surrounds himself with is crucial,” Akande stated. “One of the significant issues with our president today is that he is not getting the counsel he needs.”
Akande further condemned the tendency of some advisors to focus on personal attacks against political opponents rather than addressing pertinent issues. “Whoever is engaged in such behavior is a criminal, and the state must pursue justice. The president’s focus should not be on irresponsible commentary from others.”
He emphasized that as Commander-in-Chief, President Tinubu must take responsibility and face challenges head-on.
“There is a reason why that title, Commander-in-Chief, is bestowed upon the president,” Akande remarked. “It is essential for the president to address security matters without hesitation.”
Akande concluded by urging President Tinubu to leverage his governance experience for the country’s benefit. “We have a president with the pedigree in governance; it’s time to step up.”
