Toluwanisings death: Gospel singers panicking – Alayo Melody

Nigerian gospel singer Alayo Melody has expressed concern over widespread anxiety among gospel musicians following a series of sudden deaths in the industry. In a recent Instagram video, Melody addressed the distress felt by his colleagues, particularly in light of the recent passing of fellow artist Toluwanisings.

Melody noted that Toluwanisings’ death has instilled fear among artists, who are now apprehensive about who may be next. He publicly shared insights from conversations with other musicians, alleging that many in the gospel community have strayed from their spiritual foundations since achieving fame.

He contended that a lack of spiritual grounding is evident among some artists, emphasizing that faith must be accompanied by spiritual practices. Melody referenced biblical accounts, such as Jesus using mud to heal a blind man, to illustrate that faith alone may not suffice.

The seasoned musician advised fellow artists to be discerning about the ministrations they accept. “It’s very unusual for me to come out and speak, but I keep receiving numerous calls from individuals in distress,” he said, reflecting on his own shock, as he was scheduled to perform alongside Toluwanisings the following week.

Melody urged artists to prioritize their spiritual well-being over external expectations. “It’s better to offend people than to offend yourself. If your spirit is conflicted about attending an event, it’s wise not to go,” he stated. He encouraged those receiving invitations when they need rest to take that time for themselves.

He also reminded artists to reconnect with their spiritual roots, noting that some have lost touch with their foundational beliefs. “Many no longer attend church regularly, opting instead for various engagements without a stable place of worship,” he explained. Melody urged his peers to return to their spiritual sources, asserting that a strengthened faith can protect against premature death.

In closing, he offered prayers for the family of the deceased artist and insisted on the importance of spiritual integrity within the gospel music community.
