Atletico Madrid Defender Urges Marc Cucurella to Join Him
Atletico Madrid defender Marc Pubill has publicly encouraged fellow Spanish international Marc Cucurella to leave Chelsea and sign with Atletico Madrid during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Cucurella, who has spent four seasons at Chelsea after transferring from Brighton in 2022, was the subject of Pubill’s comments at a training camp for Spain’s national team. When asked by reporters whether he had suggested that Cucurella join him at Atletico Madrid, Pubill confirmed, “Yes, of course, I have already told him!”
When further queried about Cucurella’s response, Pubill simply replied, “Nothing,” while smiling.
Both players are teammates on the Spanish national squad.
