Nigerian Army Arrests Suspected Terrorist Informant in Kebbi State

KEBBI, Nigeria — Troops from the Nigerian Army have announced the arrest of a suspected terrorist informant and logistics supplier during a routine patrol in the Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The arrest took place on Saturday at approximately 12:14 p.m. in Kangiwa, as soldiers from the 8 Division patrolled along the Falde–Gedere road. Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama shared the news on social media on Tuesday.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect provided information and logistical support to terrorist groups operating in the region. The army has reported that items recovered from the suspect include a motorcycle, a mobile phone, and cash amounting to 69,000 Naira, which may be linked to the suspect’s alleged activities.

The individual is now in military custody for further investigation. This arrest is part of ongoing operations aimed at undermining terrorist support networks and curbing the movement of criminal elements in the North-West region of Nigeria.
