Troops discover, detonate two IEDs along Pulka-Firgi road in Borno

Nigerian Army troops successfully detonated two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by suspected terrorists along the Pulka-Firgi Road in the Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
The devices were discovered around 9:30 a.m. on October 21 by personnel from the 192 Battalion (Motorized), part of the 26 Task Force Brigade stationed at the Forward Operating Base Pulka, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama.
Makama reported on X that an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was subsequently deployed to the site. The team safely detonated the IEDs in place to mitigate potential casualties and damage to the surrounding area.
This incident underscores the ongoing threat of improvised explosive devices along roadways in Nigeria’s Northeast region, as military forces continue their efforts to identify and neutralize explosive threats targeting both security personnel and civilians.
