Nigerian Troops Recover 50 Cattle in Kaduna State Operation
NIGERIA — Troops in Kaduna State have successfully recovered 50 cattle that were part of a cattle rustling operation in the Chikun Local Government Area.
The recovery occurred after military personnel at a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Kankomi responded to a distress call about suspected rustlers in the Ungwan Gontu community on Friday at approximately 9:55 a.m.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported on social media that the troops swiftly deployed to the area, where they set up an ambush for the fleeing suspects. Upon arrival, they engaged the suspects, who subsequently abandoned the stolen livestock and fled into the nearby bush.
The retrieved cattle were identified and returned to their rightful owner. Military sources indicated that efforts are ongoing to track down the suspects and recover any additional stolen animals.
