Troops foil terrorists’ attempted infiltration of Army base in Zamfara
Nigerian Army troops, along with members of the Police, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and local vigilantes, successfully thwarted an attempted terrorist infiltration of a military base in Zamfara State.
The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the Forward Operating Base in Bukuyum Local Government Area, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama. He reported on social media platform X that security sources confirmed the attempt involved suspected terrorists engaging with the collaborative forces.
During the confrontation, the assailants were reportedly forced to withdraw in disarray. However, one soldier sustained injuries and was subsequently evacuated to the 1 Brigade Medical Centre for treatment.
In the aftermath of the attack, troops have intensified their efforts to secure the region and deter any further attempts by terrorist groups to breach military installations.
