Troops intercept military kit, arrest driver, passengers in Bauchi

A counter-insurgency expert has reported a significant incident involving military materials during a vehicle search in the Lake Chad region. Zagazola Makama disclosed the details in a post on social media platform X, citing security sources.

The interception took place at approximately 9 a.m. on November 7, 2026, when military personnel stopped a vehicle for inspection. During the search, troops found a bag containing desert boots, camouflage clothing, and bandoliers.

Prior to the search, a female passenger exited the vehicle, stating she needed to go to a nearby bush. Following the discovery of the military items, she reportedly fled and did not return.

Subsequent questioning of the remaining passengers indicated that the bag belonged to the woman who had fled. The vehicle’s driver and the other passengers were taken into military custody for further investigation.
