Troops neutralise two explosive devices in Zamfara
ZAMFARA, Nigeria — Troops participating in Operation Fansan Yamma successfully neutralized two explosive devices planted by suspected terrorists along the Magami-Hannutara-Dansadau road in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation was initiated following credible intelligence reports regarding explosives in the area. Troops from Sector 2 were deployed to secure the location and conduct a detailed search.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the troops identified two sites where the explosives were concealed and enlisted an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to manage the situation. The team was able to destroy one device and safely render the second inoperative, thereby preventing potential harm to motorists and other road users.
In response to the situation, the troops have increased patrols and surveillance along the route to ensure the safety of commuters and to safeguard surrounding communities from further threats.
Operation Fansan Yamma is urging the public to remain alert and report any suspicious objects or activities to local authorities. The operation underscored the necessity of community cooperation in supporting ongoing peace and security efforts in the region.
