Troops Conduct Patrol in Niger State Following Intelligence Reports
Soldiers from Forward Operating Bases AUDU and BABANNA carried out a patrol in the Saminaka-Kanau area of Borgu Local Government Area in Niger State on June 14, 2026.
The operation commenced at approximately 10:30 a.m., guided by credible intelligence regarding a suspected terrorist hideout in the vicinity, as reported by security expert Zagazola Makama on Wednesday via his official X account.
Although no engagement occurred with suspected terrorists during the patrol, military personnel successfully located and destroyed the identified hideout along with a related logistics and administrative site believed to assist criminal activities.
Military sources indicated that the operation was executed effectively and without incident. Ongoing efforts aim to enhance security in the area and restrict the mobility of criminal elements.
