Unidentified corpse found in Plateau community

An unidentified man was found deceased behind the Monday Market in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State, although the exact date of death remains unclear.

Community members discovered the body early Tuesday morning and promptly notified security authorities. Police personnel arrived at the scene and transported the remains to the General Hospital in Pankshin, where efforts to establish the deceased’s identity and locate his family are ongoing.

Panshak Rogo, a community source, stated at the hospital that the identity of the man has yet to be determined. “Currently, they are at the General Hospital,” he said.

Rogo expressed concern over the condition of the body, noting that several sensitive organs had been removed. He reported that the man’s ears and nose were severed, and there appeared to be tampering with his private parts.

He urged anyone who might be missing a relative to contact the police for possible identification at the Pankshin Police Station.

Attempts to reach SP Alabo Alfred, spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, were unsuccessful as he did not respond to phone calls.
