Unity Cup: Tembo declares Zimbabwe ready for Super Eagles showdown

Zimbabwe’s Tembo Confident Ahead of Unity Cup Semi-Final Against Nigeria

HARARE, Zimbabwe — Zimbabwe’s head coach, Kaitano Tembo, expressed confidence as his team prepares for a crucial semi-final match in the Unity Cup against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

The Warriors, participating in the tournament for the first time, will face the Super Eagles on Tuesday at the Valley Stadium for a chance to advance to the final.

Tembo noted that Zimbabwe and Nigeria have faced each other twice over the past two years, with both encounters in Rubavu and Uyo ending in draws.

As the match approaches, Tembo emphasized the importance of focusing on their preparation and learning from past experiences. “I think this is a different game, a different scenario, different situation as well. We need to prepare well and forget about the previous results,” he stated.

He added, “We have to go out there and give our all to win, and not dwell on what has happened before.”
