Uzodimma breaks silence on release of 20 kidnapped corps members

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State commended security agencies for their rapid response that led to the safe release of 20 National Youth Service Corps members who were kidnapped along the Onitsha-Owerri Road.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Uzodimma praised the agencies for their collaboration and dedication, noting that their collective efforts were instrumental in securing the victims’ freedom.

The corps members, along with one other individual, were abducted earlier along the highway and regained their freedom the same day.

Uzodimma also recognized the cooperation between the Imo and Oyo state governments in facilitating the release of those abducted. He explained that due to the sensitive nature of the incident, authorities chose to limit information shared with the public while rescue efforts were underway.

The governor expressed gratitude to the parents of the abducted corps members for their patience during the crisis. He called on Nigerians to maintain their confidence in the Federal Government as it continues to tackle the nation’s security issues.
