Vaniti Lagos questions credibility of accuser over fake drinks allegation

Vaniti Lagos Denies Allegations of Serving Fake Drinks

LAGOS—Vaniti Lagos has firmly rejected allegations regarding the sale of counterfeit or adulterated beverages, labeling the claims as groundless.

In a statement posted on CEO Uyi Ogbebor’s official Instagram account, the management emphasized its collaborations with recognized global beverage brands, asserting that these partnerships ensure the integrity of its products. “The same applies to all our partnerships with Global Wines (Moët Hennessy) and Pernod Ricard (Martell),” the statement said.

The club dismissed the allegations as unsubstantiated, pointing to its robust supply chain as evidence that such claims are impossible. “The idea that fake drinks could ever be found at Vaniti is not just false; it is impossible given the structure mentioned above,” the statement continued.

The response comes after a TikTok post by an individual who claimed he and four friends experienced stomach issues after visiting the club. He accused Vaniti of selling counterfeit drinks; however, he did not provide any verifiable evidence, such as purchase receipts or medical documentation, raising skepticism among local residents and Nigerians.

Vaniti Lagos also expressed concerns regarding the credibility of the allegations. “We note that the individual behind this campaign does not appear to be based in Nigeria. They should provide more substantial evidence of their visit, such as receipts or payment confirmations,” the management stated.

Furthermore, the club questioned the underlying motives for the claims. “We raise significant questions about the true intentions and sponsorship behind these allegations and are committed to uncovering the truth,” the statement remarked.

The management encouraged patrons who were at the venue on the night in question to come forward with any relevant experiences. “We urge our esteemed customers who were present that night to share their experiences, allowing us to address this matter with transparency,” they said.

In separate Instagram posts, Uyi Ogbebor hinted at forthcoming revelations about his business experiences. “A book is coming, my story, my truth. My evidence. Every deal. Every betrayal. Every lesson,” he wrote, adding that he would no longer remain silent amid the allegations.

He concluded, “Everyone who has walked through my life in business should get ready. I have kept quiet long enough. Coming soon.”
