Veteran Nollywood Actor Taiwo Adeshina Dies at 66
Nigerian actor Taiwo Adeshina, widely known as Elegbeje Ado, has passed away. He died on June 29, 2026, following a brief illness. He was 66 years old.
Seun Oloketuyi, founder of the Best of Nollywood Awards, confirmed Adeshina’s death in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Pastor Taiwo Adeshina, a beloved Nollywood legend,” Oloketuyi wrote. “Your remarkable contributions to the Yoruba movie industry and the lives you touched will never be forgotten. May God grant you eternal rest and comfort your family, friends, and fans. Rest in peace, legend.”
Adeshina was not only an influential figure in Nollywood but also served as a pastor, impacting many lives through both his acting and his faith.
