WAFCON 2026: Boost for Super Falcons as Esther Okoronkwo returns to training

Striker Esther Okoronkwo Returns to Training After Injury
Esther Okoronkwo, a striker for the Super Falcons, has resumed training following a hamstring injury that sidelined her for over a month, according to DAILY POST.
The 29-year-old sustained the injury during AFC Toronto’s league match against Halifax in early September. As a result, she missed the club’s last five league games.
In addition to her club’s matches, Okoronkwo was also absent for Nigeria’s recent friendlies against the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal.
She is anticipated to make her return to competitive play in AFC Toronto’s upcoming match against the Montreal Roses at York Lions Stadium this Saturday.
Last season, Okoronkwo played a crucial role in helping AFC Toronto secure the league title.
