Why I celebrate when people get divorced – Comedian, Bovi

Nigerian Comedian Bovi Ugboma Discusses Views on Divorce
Popular Nigerian stand-up comedian Bovi Ugboma shared his thoughts on divorce during a recent appearance on The Moraya Show. Ugboma stated that he often celebrates the end of a marriage, believing it can signify a positive change for at least one partner.
“I celebrate when people get divorced because I feel it means one or both people were not breathing well in the marriage,” he said. Ugboma emphasized that he views divorce as a preferable alternative to remaining in a toxic relationship.
Reflecting on his own experiences, he acknowledged that his 17-year marriage has not been without challenges. “That is not to say my marriage has been easy for 17 years. It has not,” he noted. “I got married at 29. I have been providing for 17 years nonstop.”
Ugboma’s comments highlight a growing discourse around the complexities of marital relationships and the choices individuals make regarding their well-being.
